About GeBA
Established in 2019, the Georgian Biotechnology Association (GeBA) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing biotechnology, applied biosciences, green solutions, and innovation in Georgia. GeBA unites around 200 members, including young researchers, professionals, and businesses working across agriculture, food, environment, and health. The association serves as a bridge between research, innovation, education, business, and society.
Key Activities
Innovative Training Programs
GeBA designs and delivers short-term professional courses focused on Environment, Health, Food, and Agriculture. These programs are built around real-world needs, equipping participants with practical, job-relevant skills that directly translate into professional competence. By combining scientific grounding with applied learning, GeBA's training programs prepare individuals to contribute meaningfully to sectors that are critical for Georgia's sustainable development.
Cross-Sector Collaboration
GeBA facilitates joint initiatives that bring together youth organizations, NGOs, universities, and public institutions. Through workshops, seminars, and conferences, we create spaces for cross-sector dialogue, knowledge exchange, and partnership formation. These collaborative efforts help align priorities across civil society, academia, and government — fostering a more cohesive ecosystem for innovation and social impact in Georgia.
Enhancing Competencies & Employability
GeBA develops industry-focused training programs that are closely aligned with current labor market demands. We support non-formal education pathways and continuous professional development, recognizing that formal degrees alone are often insufficient for today's fast-evolving job market. Our approach helps individuals upgrade their qualifications, gain industry-recognized credentials, and improve their long-term career prospects.
Connecting Employers & Job Seekers
GeBA operates an online employment and career guidance hub designed to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers, with a particular focus on youth. By providing career resources, guidance tools, and direct connections to relevant employers, the platform improves the visibility of opportunities and helps young professionals navigate the transition from education into meaningful employment.
