Established in 2019, the Georgian Biotechnology Association (GeBA) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing biotechnology, applied biosciences, green solutions, and innovation in Georgia. GeBA unites around 200 members, including young researchers, professionals, and businesses working across agriculture, food, environment, and health. The association serves as a bridge between research, innovation, education, business, and society. GeBA is represented by experienced researchers and experts with strong backgrounds in sustainable business development and consulting.
The association has implemented and partnered with projects funded by the EU, USAID, Tbilisi State University, and the National Science Foundation of Georgia. It has facilitated exchange programs with European universities, hosted scientific conferences, and provided training and consulting services to farmers, agribusinesses, laboratories, and companies. GeBA actively supports participation in European research programs including Horizon Europe and COST Actions.
