Erasmus+ Academic Visit Strengthens Cooperation Between TSU and BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg

From June 8–11, 2026, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Christian Abendroth from Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), Germany, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Programme.

During his visit, Dr. Abendroth delivered a series of lectures and seminars for students and academic staff of the Division of Applied Biosciences and Biotechnology. The lectures focused on contemporary challenges and opportunities in circular economy, sustainable resource management, and innovative approaches to environmental protection and waste valorization. The events provided participants with valuable insights into current European research and educational practices in these rapidly developing fields.

The visit also served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen academic cooperation between TSU and BTU. Meetings with faculty members and university representatives facilitated discussions on future collaborative activities, including joint research initiatives, student and staff mobility opportunities, and participation in international projects.

The Erasmus+ mobility contributed significantly to the internationalization of educational activities at TSU, fostering knowledge exchange, intercultural dialogue, and the development of new academic partnerships.
