GeBA at the First Mic2Food Working Groups Meeting in Wrocław

We were pleased to participate in the first Working Groups Meeting of the COST Action CA24132 – Accelerating Innovation and Development of European Microbial Foods (Mic2Food), which was held at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław, Poland on April 19–20, 2026.

This important meeting brought together researchers, experts, and representatives from academia, industry, and stakeholder organizations to discuss the future of microbial foods in Europe, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, regulation, communication, and practical applications.

Nino Inasaridze, WP6 Leader, presented the objectives and activities of Working Group 6. WP6 plays a key role in strengthening communication, dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and the broader societal impact of the Mic2Food Action.

Elena Cherkezia, representing TSU and the Georgian Biotechnology Association (GeBA), contributed to the meeting as a speaker with the presentation: "Dissemination Pathways Targeting Industry, Academia, and Consumers in Mic2Food". The presentation focused on effective dissemination strategies aimed at connecting scientific knowledge with industry needs, academic communities, and consumer awareness.

The agenda included presentations and discussions from several Working Groups, covering microbial food production, novel food regulations, alternative proteins, food microbiology, advanced analytics, bioelectrochemical systems, social media communication, grants, and COST reimbursement rules.

The meeting provided an excellent platform for productive discussions, knowledge exchange, and the development of new collaborations aimed at advancing sustainable microbial foods in Europe.
